One of my favorite things to eat in the summer are salads that have sweet and savory undertones.

Lately, I've been favoring pear as my fruit-of-choice.

Balsamic Pear Salad Ingredients
3/4-1 whole pear (cored and cubed)
1.5 servings (1.5oz) fat free feta cheese
2 big handfuls of greens (arugula or spinach)
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar (I like the semi-reduced kind with fruit essence)

I like to garnish the salad with 1) a bit of fruit and nut mixture and 2) something crunchy like puffed wheat

Altogether for about 100 cal (pear) + 40-45 cal (FFFC) + 100 cal (fruit and nuts and vinegar) + 20 cal greens for under 300 cal. This is a nice hearty biggish salad. And it leaves plenty of room for a nice yogurt for dessert =)
