Haroset is a passover tradition that symbolizes the mortar the slaves used to lay their bricks and the sweetness of freedom. But it's also a delicious and fairly healthy dessert dip. Not too pretty though...

Ingredients (from the left): cinnamon, ginger, splash of red wine (3/4 glass?), apples (6 small-medium sized), walnuts (chopped).

Not pictured: honey, agave nectar (sub for sugar!)

Throw all of these into a food processor and make a paste out of it. I am thinking that white wine might be a better idea.

Use the cinnamon and ginger pretty liberally.
